Description

Indoor localization problem is a highly preferred research area in recent years. Estimating the location of a communication node is essential in many fields including swarm robotics, wireless sensor nodes etc. In applications without a reference point, relative localization of the nodes with respect to each other is preferred. In order to estimate the relative positions of the communication nodes, the distance information of each node with respect to other nodes is required. In this paper, it is aimed to estimate the distances between the nodes by using the received signal strength (RSS) information. For an indoor environment, the distances between the nodes are estimated by using the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) parameter provided by the wireless communication infrastructure, namely Wi-Fi.
