An important problem on this path is the grounded representation of individual concepts and the relationships between them. In this article, we propose a probabilistic method based on Markov Random Fields to model a concept web on a humanoid robot where individual concepts and the relations between them are captured. In this web, each individual concept is represented using a prototype-based conceptualization method that we proposed in our earlier work. Relations between concepts are linked to the cooccurrences of concepts in interactions. By conveying input from perception, action, and language, the concept web forms rich, structured, grounded information about objects, their affordances, words, etc. We demonstrate that, given an interaction, a word, or the perceptual information from an object, the corresponding concepts in the web are activated, much the same way as they are in humans. Moreover, we show that the robot can use these activations in its concept web for several tasks to disambiguate its understanding of the scene.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Middle E Tech Univ, Dept Comp Engn, KOVAN Res Lab, TR-06531 Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Orhan, Guner</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Middle E Tech Univ, Dept Comp Engn, KOVAN Res Lab, TR-06531 Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Kalkan, Sinan</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="b">article</subfield> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Middle E Tech Univ, Dept Comp Engn, KOVAN Res Lab, TR-06531 Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Celikkanat, Hande</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">2015-01-01</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20210316043805.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="909" ind1="C" ind2="O"> <subfield code="o">oai:zenodo.org:76355</subfield> <subfield code="p">user-tubitak-destekli-proje-yayinlari</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="z">md5:9d9e94fe2c604d69bd8d6777932cb947</subfield> <subfield code="s">161</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.trrecord/76355/files/bib-18c2d3c7-4077-41c6-beeb-efc18ac26fb6.txt</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="024" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.1109/TAMD.2015.2418678</subfield> <subfield code="2">doi</subfield> </datafield> </record>
