Motion Capture Data (.bvh) and Coordinate 3D (.c3d) File Structure This database includes the structure and organization of .c3d and .bvh files collected by İzmir Institute of Technology Biomechanics Lab. This structure has been designed in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). ## File Naming The options listed below contain an explanation of the abbreviations used in file naming. 1) S####_G_A_B_T_P 2) The first option has a naming template. The abbreviations are explained as follows: - S#### : Number of participants based on the dataset, eg. S0001, - G : Gender, eg. M(Male), F(Female), - A : Age at the time of experiment, eg. A21 - B : Subject body mass index (BMI), eg. B23 - T : Abbreviated task name, for example SJD (Süjud) - P : Motion capture system, eg. Q (Qualisys), S (Smartsuit) 3) Activity abbreviations are as follows. - Gait: Walking - OBC: Obstacle Crossing - STL: Stoop Lifting - SQL: Squat Lifting - AST: Asian Stly Sitting - TUG: Timed Up and Go - CHT: Chair Transfer - CYC: Cycling - RAI: Ruku' and Itidal - RTS: Ruku to Sujud - SJD: Sujud - ACS: Ascending Stair - DCS: Descending Stair - CLS: Cross-legged Stitting ## Data Format and Standard Data were recorded in file formats containing three-dimensional coordinate data commonly used in biomechanics and motion capture systems. - Files with the .c3d extension contain the 3D coordinate data of the markers placed on the anatomical points and the force data of the volunteers.
